Lady Doak College is the first institution in South Tamil Nadu to initiate B.Com (Professional Accounting) Course. B.Com (PA) was started in the year 2011. It is a specialized course in a way that it is designed especially for students aspiring to become Chartered Accountants. The three years of study will cover the syllabus of CPT (Common Proficiency Test) and both groups of Intermediate (IPC). The students enrolling under B.Com (PA) have to register for their CPT exam before or immediately after joining the college. On completion of CPT course, the students have to register for IPCC exams*.
During the second year of study the students are required to complete "Tally Certification Course" and during the third year (V Semester), the students will have to undergo 45 days training in audit firm as part of their curriculum. This course is designed to enable the students to acquire advanced knowledge in subjects of Chartered Accountancy course. This course will enable the students to pursue their CA course simultaneously with B.Com.
For admission in a B.Com (PA) course, the student must have passed the Higher Secondary School Certificate (+2) examination with subjects Commerce, Accounts, Business Mathematics and Economics with minimum 80%.
There will be an entrance exam (MCQs) covering subjects Accountancy, Economics, Business Mathematics and Statistics. Selection will be based on Entrance Exam and Cut-Off marks in HSLC.
The duration of the course is 3 years.
